Jeannie Collins, Principal Research Associate
Jeannie is an epidemiologist who has worked in HIV research since 2003, focusing on maternal and child health. She joined the Unit in 2014 and co-leads the paediatric component of the European Pregnancy and Paediatric Infections Cohort Collaboration (EPPICC). She is co-investigator in the International AIDS Society Collaborative Initiative for Paediatric HIV Education and Research (CIPHER) Global Cohort Collaboration, which pools data from large paediatric HIV cohort networks across the world to address global research and policy questions. She is also co-investigator on the HCVAVERT study exploring treatment options for pregnant women living with hepatitis C.
Before joining the Unit, Jeannie coordinated HIV clinical trials and one of the first antiretroviral treatment programmes in Thailand, which also served as an observational cohort study to inform national scale-up efforts. She has an MSc in Public Health in Developing Countries and a PhD in Epidemiology and Health Economics at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
