Angela Meade, Principal Research Scientist
Angela joined the MRC Clinical Trials Unit in December 1999 as a Clinical Trial Manager for the unit’s first multi-arm trial, FOCUS. She worked on a number of colorectal cancer clinical trials, before becoming a Project Lead in 2007. Angela has since led a prison-based trial investigating the use of take-home naloxone (n-ALIVE) as well as a number of international oncology trials. Most recently Angela is responsible for leading the SORCE and RAMPART trials and co-leads the Add-Aspirin trial.
On joining UCL, Angela led on the design and set-up of the MSc Clinical Trials and was Programme Director for the programme from 2016 to 2022. Angela is currently the Taught Education Lead for the UCL Institute of Clinical Trials and Methodology (ICTM) and the co-lead of the EDI team at ICTM.
Angela has a PhD from the University of Ulster and an MSc in Clinical Trials from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Angela is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
