Capacity Strengthening

The Unit has a long history of actively contributing to initiatives in the UK and in low-and middle-income partner countries (LMICs) to support careers in clinical trials and improve processes and systems that support clinical research.

Our efforts build on the Unit’s expertise across our wide range of large-scale, complex and often innovative clinical trials and studies. We utilise our global partnerships and our many interdisciplinary research collaborations.

Training activities are embedded at the core and across the complex research journey of our clinical trials. We are committed to increasing the capability of the teams we work with in LMICs to run independent trials. We also support research arising from the use of trial data and samples.
